The position

 We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel with an international mindset to oversee the legal aspects of our dynamic and fast-paced business. As a key member of our small team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our reputation and ensuring legal compliance across various facets of our operations. You will work independently on both active and future cases and effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure. Your duties in this role will include:
  • Providing legal advice and supporting on matters related to international employment law, corporate law, and data & security law to in-country teams and leadership.
  • Ensuring that the company’s operations are compliant with international laws and regulations, proactively identifying risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Assisting in corporate governance matters, including the preparation of shareholders' resolutions, and maintaining corporate records.
  • Advising on employment-related legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensuring organizational policies and practices are compliant with GDPR and ESG regulations.
  • Managing and overseeing litigation and disputes, coordinating with external legal counsel if necessary, and advising on dispute resolution strategies.
  • Providing training to the company on disputes, legal compliance, risk, and relevant new laws and regulations.
  • Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization;
  • Participating in strategic projects with cross-functional teams to support the company's vision and growth.
  • Acting as the spokesperson for lobbying activities and liaising with major industry partners, including WEC, to advocate for and shape policies that benefit the organization and the international employment sector.

This is your job if
  • You have 3-5 years of proven experience as a Legal Counsel in an international business environment, preferably also trained as an outside counsel;
  • You have a MA in law;
  • You are based in the Netherlands and fluently in English, any other language of the countries we work (such as Dutch, French, Spanish, German) in is an advantage;
  • You have excellent knowledge and understanding of European labor law, corporate law and contractual law;
  • You have a full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation;
  • You are able to create legal defensive or proactive strategies;
  • You have a high degree of professional ethics and integrity;
  • You have a sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information;
  • You have outstanding communication skills and are solution minded;
  • You have the flexibility necessary to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic scale-up;
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset to offer Parakar the decisions they need for the company;
Our offer
  • A starting salary of between €2950 and €4350 gross per month (depending on your experience); 
  • Possibility of part-time work (minimum 32 hours);  
  • A very dynamic international working environment in a prime location in Amsterdam or Breda;
  • An annual development budget of EUR 1000;
  • 31 vacation days;
  • A bonus potential of 10% (50/50 based on company vs personal goals);
